Numerals listed under the category ‘week’, as a whole, represent the length of the regular season of 12 or 13 total weeks where most games are played on Saturdays. R designates the week where no games are played and, on Thanksgiving day, final polls and complete Top 12 and Next 16 tournaments information is made public. D represents the first week (round 1) for both the Top 12 and Next 16; however, seeds #1 through #4 are rewarded this week off. C symbolizes round 2 for both the Top 12 and Next 16. B represents round 3 for both the Top 12 and Next 16. Rounds 1, 2, and 3, in their preferred state, hold Next 16 contests on Thursdays and Top 12 games on Fridays and Saturdays. The week after round 3, the Top 12 tournament allows this week as rest for it’s final two teams; and the Next 16 tournament Championship is played on December 25th, Christmas day. Exactly one week after Christmas, the Top 12 Championship is held on January 1st, New Years Day.
